Future Students

Health (Community Health, International Health)

The Area of Study

The Bachelor of Health degree explores the social, political, cultural, economic and environmental determinants and outcomes of health, both in Australia and across the globe. You will study a core set of units from fields such as anthropology, biology, human geography, demography, sociology and health studies, and take elective subjects from these and a wide variety of other fields such as politics, philosophy, anatomy, early childhood, Indigenous studies, and economics.

Students in the Bachelor of Health program enrol in one of two strands of the degree: community health or international health. While differing somewhat in focus, both strands are designed to provide you with an interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary view of health and an integrated awareness of the determinants, distribution and consequences of health and ill-health in contemporary societies. A double degree program combining the study of health with psychology is also available.
