Engineering — Photonics

The Area of Study

Photonic engineers do with light what electronic engineers do with electrons, with electrons: design, build, test and manage systems that carry out the transmission, processing and storage of information as optical signals for applications such as telecommunications, imaging and sensing.

The Bachelor of Engineering in Photonics Engineering # provides a strong foundation in the basic sciences and core areas of photonics engineering such as mathematics, optics and electromagnetics, then allows you to develop skills in one or more related areas such as digital electronics, or the design and implementation of telecommunication networks.

Engineering involves a high level of technical expertise and substantial project management skills hence an engineering degree can lead to careers in technology development and/or business and management.
