Women's Studies

The Area of Study

The interdisciplinary program in women’s studies investigates what it means to be a woman or a man in the contemporary world. The units examine a range of ideas and cultural practices in order to understand the many ways in which femininity and masculinity function in different communities.

There are two options offered by the program in women’s studies. You can take one or two of our core units as electives to complement your major disciplinary area, be it in philosophy or politics, business or biology, sociology or psychology or you can specialise in women’s studies, gender and sexuality.
