This interdisciplinary program is designed for students interested in learning about the broad spectrum of Australian culture. With a core program of three units, you can also choose from diverse fields of study on Australian topics across departments at Macquarie University. You can pursue major studies in Australian and Indigenous Australian history, Australian literature, film and culture, Australian politics, music, sociology, anthropology, gender studies, Aboriginal studies, geography and, in some instances, law.

The three core Australian studies units do not require any assumed knowledge, prerequisites or recommended studies.
