SUITABLE FOR

ENTRY PATHWAY TO BACHELORS DEGREE

Certificate and Diploma of Languages

Open to all applicants, part time only

Transfer to Bachelor of Arts possible from Diploma course

Distance education

Entry based on academic performance

Degrees available include: Bachelor of Arts; Bachelor of Science; Bachelor of Education Early Childhood Education and Bachelor of Laws

Mature Age Jubilee Scheme

Applicants over 21 Years of age who have not undertaken any tertiary education; full or part-time

Degrees available: Bachelor of Arts; Bachelor of Arts with the Diploma of Education (primary/secondary); Bachelor of Science; Bachelor of Science with the Diploma of Education (primary/secondary); Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education)

International College of Management, Sydney (ICMS)

Students interested in the areas of event management, hospitality management, international tourism, property services, retail services management and sport management.

Pathway places at ICMS allow for entry into diploma programs at ICMS and do not have a UAI minimum requirement. After completing two years of study and achieving the appropriate Grade Point Average, students can transfer into the Macquarie University Bachelor of Business Administration program and complete the third year at ICMS to obtain their degree.

Non-award entry

Applicants on a tuition-fee-paying basis. Students undertake undergraduate units, but are not enrolled in a degree, diploma or certificate

Students who complete 12 credit points with a minimum (Grade Point Average) of 2.0 can gain admission into a limited number of Bachelors' programs at Macquarie University.

Sydney Institute of Business and Technology (SIBT)

Applicants who may not qualify for direct entry on academic merit

Students who complete a SIBT Diploma with an eligible GPA will get admission into second year of the relevant Bachelor's Degree at Macquarie University.

Graduates of TAFE and private colleges

Students holding AQF Accredited Awards (eg. Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Associate Degree and Certificate IV) or TAFE Associate Diplomas

Qualifications must be completed prior to application

Macquarie City College Students who have successfully completed Year 11 now have the option of studying the Macquarie University Foundation Studies. Upon successful completion, students enter the first year of a Bachelor degree at Macquarie City College. Courses at the College are FEE-HELP approved for Australian Citizens.

Open Universities Australia (OUA)

Applicants who do not have the required UAI

Applicants can enrol in units of study from the Bachelor of Arts at Macquarie University with OUA. Entry not based on UAI, after completed 4 units applicants can apply for on campus study at Macquarie University

Internal transfers

Applicants can enrol in a degree with a lower UAI

Students may be eligible to apply to transfer into their chosen degree after meeting the requirements of the Internal Transfer Policy which can be viewed online via the University Handbook.

Transfer from another university

Students currently studying at another university who wish to transfer to a Macquarie University degree

Students must apply through UAC. UAC will take into account both their academic record at tertiary level as well as their UAI. For students who have only completed up to six months of tertiary study and seek to reapply through UAC, they will be selected based on the best of their tertiary study or their UAI, whichever is higher

Domestic Full Fee-Paying Places (DFEE)

Applicants who do not have the required UAI

Some DFEE courses have a lower UAI than Commonwealth-Supported Places (CSP)

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION

uniTEST all applicants to the university through the Universities Admissions Centre uniTEST pathway is designed to support those who may have experienced disadvantage during their HSC which impacted on their final results.

Elite Athletes and Performers Schemes

Elite athletes and performers who believe that their training and/or competitive commitments have affected their HSC preparation

Does not provide direct entry but applicants can compete for a place with a UAI up to four points below the course cut-off for the year of admission

Educational Access Scheme (The Lighthouse Scheme)

For applicants who can prove that educational performance during Year 11 and/or Year 12 or equivalent has been seriously affected by circumstances beyond their control

International fee-paying applicants not eligible. Applicants currently undertaking or have previously undertaken tertiary study are not eligible

Macquarie University Warawara Alternative Entry Program

For applicants of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent

Applicants undertake a two day assessment workshop to demonstrate required skills of literacy and/or numeracy
