Careers guidance

Looking for some work experience to add to your degree? Havent updated your resume in a while? The Career Development Office empowers current students and recent graduates to become self reliant, career informed and able to manage their careers lifelong. As a Macquarie student utilise the career services available to you such as:

Security and Campus Courtesy Bus

Chaplaincy

The Macquarie University Chaplaincy Centre aims to reflect and support the diversity of the university. Drawing on chaplains from many different religions, and of many different ages, the chaplaincy centre is there to provide any spiritual help or support you might need. You can drop by to talk about problems, or get in touch with people who share your faith.

Childcare

There are three childcare centres at Macquarie, to provide childcare for staff and students while studying and in school holidays. Banksia Cottage, Gumnut Cottage, and the Mia Mia Child and Family Study Centre give the highest standard of care, and cater to staff, students, and the wider community.

Counselling

Everybody faces tough times in their lives, and often the hardest times come when you’re faced with a new environment and it seems there’s no-one around to talk to. If you find that you need help with sorting out your life, or you’re just not sure what to do, then it’s a good idea to access our counselling services. We provide a comprehensive and confidential counselling service, with face-to-face guidance from one of our experienced counselling staff.

If you need medical help, don’t hesitate to access our bulk-billed, comprehensive GP services, here at the uni itself. The medical staff provide the best quality medical services to members of the university community, and strive to make it as economical as possible. Financial Services

Tax, credit accounts, budgeting, and loans: no, it’s not a business degree, but you might feel at first like you need one when dealing with the myriad financial challenges of being a student. At Macquarie University we recognise that financial difficulty is one of the major inhibitors of academic excellence, and we’ve sought to remedy that with the Welfare Unit providing financial advice for students, as well as providing someone to contact
